Epson is hiring for a driven and knowledgeable Senior SAP BI Consultant to join our forward-thinking team. You’ll play a key role in delivering innovative solutions for Epson.
The Senior SAP BI Consultant is responsible for the architecture, design, development and support of SAP data warehousing solutions and reporting, ensuring these reports align with Epson’s business goals and data management strategies.
As flexibility is very much central to a modern society Epson UK continues to offer three days working from home, and two days at our brand-new state of the art Watford offices.
What you will do:
- Design, develop and maintain the overall data warehouse architecture, ensuring it aligns with the organisation's data strategy and business objectives
- Collaborate with business users and the SAP Functional team to gather requirements, design, and implement SAP BI solutions using SAP BW/4HANA , SAP Analytics Cloud and other relevant SAP BI tools, ensuring alignment with business objectives and best practices
- Design, development and implementation of data models, data flows and transformation processes (ETL: Extract, Transform, Load), and data integration strategies to support efficient data warehousing
- Configure and optimise data extraction from source systems, including SAP ERP, non-SAP systems, and external data sources
- Create and enhance SAP BW queries reports and dashboards using tools likeSAP Analytics Cloud and other relevant reporting tools
- Employ effective system monitoring to ensure that data integrity is maintained and compliance with data security and privacy regulations
- Perform risk analysis and mitigation
- Monitor and optimise the performance of SAP BI solutions, including query performance, data loads, and system responsiveness
- Solving production issues, developing production changes according to the standards and procedures set in place
- Maintain documentation of SAP BI solutions, data models, and reporting processes for knowledge sharing and future reference. Develop and maintain architectural documentation, coding standards, and best practices for data warehousing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and SAP technical teams to ensure the seamless integration of SAP BI with the overall SAP landscape and efficient operation
- Stay current with SAP BI technology advancements and contribute to system upgrades, enhancements, and new feature implementations
- Continuously evaluate emerging data warehouse technologies, tools, and methodologies to ensure the scalability and performance of the data warehouse environment. Provide to his/her manager input for all new technical features/products
- Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate and select appropriate data warehouse tools, technologies, and vendors.
- Perform prototyping of new functionalities
- Proven Project Management experience
- Provide training and support to end-users, enabling them to effectively utilise SAP BI reporting and analytics tools
- Provide guidance and training to SAP BI peers and support teams, ensuring they follow architectural guidelines
What we ask for:
- Ideally educated to degree level
- Specialized depth of knowledge and expertise on SAP BW/4HANA
- ABAP knowledge essential
- Proven SAC knowledge and experience
- Ability to react quickly and positively to issues and developments on the system
- Good understanding and experience of the business modules in SAP
- Experience to deliver information from the SAP system areas through SAP BI/BW
- Ability to visualise the business reporting requirements and provide effective data modelling
- Ability to develop logical data model using best practices for data capture, data integrity and query & report design
- Ability to extract information from other systems and applications than SAP
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Involved with at least two end-to-end full lifecycle projects
