Would you like to join a new Logistics Team in Riga?
As the Transport Specialist you are responsible for the close and proactive monitoring of Epson Europe’s inbound and outbound shipments to ensure the efficient and high-performing transportation of Epson products.
The role will support the sales companies, third party logistics warehouses (3 PLS) and transport companies by responding to any issues that are raised.
This is a great opportunity to join Epson as we establish our brand-new office in Riga. You’ll be a founding member of our Epson Business Services team, collaborating with colleagues locally across functions such as finance, supply chain and logistics. You’ll also work closely with Epson teams all over Europe.
Salary: 14,680-18,350 (EUR) + Bonus

What you will do:
- Monitor inbound/outbound general shipment flow for defined ETAs using track & trace tools including special focus for urgent shipments and/or projects on a daily basis and handle, solve, report and/or escalate irregularities.
- Respond to and identify trends in transport issues raised by the Sales companies, 3PL’s or transport companies and ensure issues are solved as soon as possible. Take actions to prevent repeat fails.
- Action (within agreed timelines) reported issues in Quality Management reporting tool.
- Monitor Epson’s internal inbound/outbound tracking systems are working and providing up to date information. Escalate issues as required.
- Provide professional expertise against transport quotations and benchmarking exercises.
- Prepare monthly freight accruals figures for assigned transport companies and audit transport invoices (timely issued/agreed rates) before forwarding to Accounts Payable for processing.
- Contribute to monthly report on accrued and actual expenses to ensure accuracy of accruals submitted to Finance meets agreed KPI.
- Review the ongoing performance of all carriers against Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements, analyze results and suggest actions to improve performance.
- Create recurring and ad hoc requested reports and analyze transportation related data for management and stakeholders.
- Participate in aligning and improving internal processes between Transport and other Epson departments.
- Assist 3PL’s, where needed, in providing correct required documentation towards transport vendors to avoid delays/disrupted flows
What we ask for:
- Preferably Bachelor degree in logistics or transport related area (or equivalent work experience)
- Demonstrated experience in all modes of transport and/or logistics.
- Good English (written and spoken).
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, Power BI beneficial.
- Working knowledge of SAP is beneficial.
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills to be able to meet monthly deadlines and being able to manage daily controls and other priorities.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and manage internal stakeholders and service providers.
- Knowledge of international trade and customs affairs.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and see them through to resolution.
