The Senior Payroll Operations Specialist delivers complex multi-country payroll activity and provides a deeper level of expertise within the Payroll and Reward Operations team.

 

What you will do:

 

  • Deliver complex and high-risk payroll administration activities including advanced validations, reconciliations, statutory calculations, year-end processes and payroll exception handling.
  • Act as the key escalation point for payroll issues raised by the Payroll and Reward Operations team, People Services Teams and other stakeholders.
  • Lead investigations into payroll discrepancies, collaborating closely with the outsourced payroll provider, People Technology and internal partners to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
  • Perform detailed quality checks on payroll inputs and outputs, ensuring compliance with statutory, internal and J SOX requirements.
  • Support day to day operational management of the outsourced payroll provider, reviewing service performance, identifying quality issues and escalating concerns to the Team Leader as needed.
  • Work closely with People Operations to ensure accurate and complete data transfer, identify recurring upstream issues and contribute to root cause analysis.
  • Partner with People Technology to resolve system-related payroll issues, support testing of fixes or enhancements and validate payroll-critical configuration changes.
  • Support statutory, regulatory and benefits-related payroll reporting, ensuring accurate data submissions for compliance activities.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and knowledge support to the Payroll Operations Specialists and Payroll and Reward Operations Associate.
  • Contribute to process improvement by identifying inefficiencies, recurring errors or opportunities to automate or standardise payroll processes.
  • Support reward operations delivery during salary review cycles, variable pay processes, benefits census reporting and other reward-related activities.

 

What we ask for:

 

  • Relevant education in the HR or Finance field.
  • Extensive payroll operations experience, ideally within a multi country or shared services environment.
  • Deep understanding of payroll legislation in Europe, statutory compliance requirements and complex payroll scenarios.
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability with attention to detail.
  • Experience managing advanced escalations and resolving high-risk payroll issues.
  • Experience working with outsourced payroll vendors and monitoring service quality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Understanding of people-to-payroll data flows, upstream dependencies and interface processes.
  • Experience using payroll or HRIS systems (SAP SuccessFactors experience is beneficial).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to guide and support colleagues.
  • Fluency in English is required.

What we offer:

Monthly salary 1500 - 1900 EUR gross (The final offer will be based on the candidate’s assessed skills, knowledge and experience).
