Would you like to join and build a newly created team in Riga?

 

As our Payroll & Reward Operations Team Leader, you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth, accurate payroll delivery across multiple European countries. This is a leadership-focused position where you’ll guide a team, partner with external providers, and drive operational excellence in a shared services environment.

 

What you will do: 

  • Lead, coach and develop the Payroll & Reward Operations team, creating a high-performing, collaborative environment
  • Act as a senior point of guidance, helping the team resolve complex payroll challenges
  • Oversee payroll delivery across Europe, primarily through outsourced providers
  • Act as the main day-to-day contact for payroll vendors and monitor payroll performance to ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance with local regulations
  • Serve as the payroll escalation point for People Services Teams and other key stakeholders across Europe.
  • Support the onboarding and stabilization of payroll services within the shared service model.
  • Ensure robust controls and compliance with audit requirements (including J SOX), data governance and internal policies
  • Maintain high levels of data accuracy through validation, reconciliations and quality checks
  • Oversee key reward processes such as salary review cycles, benefits reporting and compensation data submissions, support with benchmarking activities and regular reward reporting
  • Partner with People Services, Finance and Reward teams to deliver accurate and timely reward insights
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Europe, acting as a trusted payroll expert
  • Serve as the key escalation point for payroll-related queries across the business
  • Proactively identify and drive improvements in payroll and reward processes, focusing on standardization, automation and efficiency

 

What we ask for: 

  • Significant experience in payroll operations, preferably including delivery across multiple European countries and/or within shared services environments.
  • Proven experience leading and developing teams within payroll or HR operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing outsourced payroll providers.
  • Strong understanding of European payroll legislation, statutory requirements, compliance obligations and payroll controls.
  • Exposure to reward operations, including salary review processes, benefits administration or compensation reporting.
  • Experience handling complex payroll issues and escalations, with the ability to resolve matters independently and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, including advanced Excel capability, with experience in reconciliations, data validation and audit checks.
  • Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems and understanding of data integrations across systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts to non-specialist audiences
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written) for communication with colleagues in Europe. 

 

What we offer:

Montly salary 2350 - 2900 EUR gross (The final offer will be based on the candidate’s assessed skills, knowledge and experience.)
