Your mission:
Are you a Finance Manager looking to build something new in Riga?
As the Finance Manager for our new European Business Services (EBS) organisation you will be responsible for setting up and managing the local EBS Finance team while supporting centrally managed Finance functions.
This is a great opportunity to join Epson as we establish our brand-new office in Riga. You’ll be a founding member of our Epson Business Services team, collaborating with colleagues locally across functions such as finance, supply chain and logistics. You’ll also work closely with Epson teams all over Europe.
What you will do:
Transaction/Processing:

- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting, AP and AR teams, ensuring that transactions for EEB and ESC countries are processed on a complete, timely, and accurate basis.
Compliance:

- Liaise with the central management of shared functions Credit Control, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable to ensure that local accounting and reporting compliance responsibilities are maintained for EEB and ESC’s.
- Assist in developing and enhancing internal controls for EEB and the local Sales Companies.
- Support with external tax audits.
- Support with J-Sox and other internal and external audits.
Reporting/Analysis:

- Ensure that financial records are maintained by ensuring accurate journals and reconciliation of accounts.
- Support with the timely production of local monthly management accounts, and the reporting thereof to the parent company.
- Support with the production of the EBS annual budget and quarterly forecasts, including uploading such information onto the company’s accounting systems, within specified deadlines.
- Provide detailed analysis to relevant internal stakeholders of major variances against EBS Budget/Forecast each month.
- Management of the local year end audit process, through to preparation of the statutory accounts.
Business Partnering

- Be the financial contact for local governance/compliance, accounting and fiscal matters for all areas of the local EBS business.
- Hold cost meetings with EBS budget holders to review spend if necessary.
Management:

- Oversee the Accounting team members on a daily basis in close communication with central management.
- Manage the team towards meeting annual objectives, holding team members to a high standard of performance, identifying and developing talent.
- Act as a role model and ensure a culture of diversity and inclusion in the function
What we ask for:
- Previous experience as a Finance Manager in a shared service centre
- Qualified Accountant.
- IFRS and Local GAAP knowledge
- Previous experience of managing a busy accounts department.
- First class Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel.
- Previous experience of SAP is highly desirable.
- Previous experience of working within a multinational company, including experience in international transactions and reporting requirements.
- Fluent in English, an additional language of French, Italian, Spanish or German would be beneficial
