Your mission:

 

Are you an Accounting Team Leader looking to establish a new team?

 

As the Accounting Team Leader you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coaching of Epson Europe’s European Business Services (EBS) Accounting team. You will ensure an accurate, timely and efficient recording of financial transactions in assigned countries in the European region.

 

The Team Leader also performs general accounting activities such as maintenance of fixed assets, warranty provisions, sales accounting (e.g. general sales accruals & rebates). You will serve as the main contact for internal parties concerning local inventory and fixed asset management. You’ll also ensure accurate month end close of General ledgers and participate in GL activities related to relevant country financial statement.

 

This is a great opportunity to join Epson as we establish our brand-new office in Riga. You’ll be a founding member of our Epson Business Services team, collaborating with colleagues locally across functions such as finance, supply chain and logistics. You’ll also work closely with Epson teams all over Europe. 

 

What you will do:

 

Daily activities:

    • Ensure the proper and accurate accounting of assets and liabilities. Ensure accruals are made and that costs are expensed in the correct period. This includes control of accruals, provisions and prepayments based on IFRS requirements.
    • Responsible for accurate and timely reporting of statistical reports to the local authority.
    • Ensure the proper accounting of fixed assets and low value assets (both EBS and Shared Services). Maintenance of the corresponding procedures and ensure annual inventory counts on asset locations of EBS. Reconciliation of fixed asset balance accounts at month end closing. Liaise with the central Finance team, IT and Facilities department to ensure correct recording of assets.
    • Control all ledger accounts related to the inventory and the manufacturing process.
    • Monitor weekly follow-up inventory movements, explain any price changes per plant and profit centre. Ensure correctness of obsolescence and other provisions related to inventory. Analyses of inventory structure and evolution.
    • Daily monitoring of the pricing process.
    • Responsible for the supervision and operation of the team and to make daily operational decisions in relation to his or her scope of responsibility.

 

Monthly activities (related to month end closing):

    • Prepare flux analysis reports of actual costs based on monthly financial statement results.
    • Prepare information for external audit purpose and Ensure J-Sox controls compliance.
    • Prepare balance specifications for month end closing.
    • Plan the Accounting team monthly activities and monitor the results.

 

Strategic activities:

    • Provide training and guidance to the Accounting team to ensure the team members can perform their tasks to the required standard.
    • Ensure the GL Accounting team is cross trained in various tasks to ensure a back up is in place for all activities.
    • Ensure compliance with EEB policies and procedures and local legal regulations.
    • Support to continuously optimize GL Accounting process by making suggestions for improvements of processes and procedures to EBS Finance Manager.

 

What we ask for:Bottom of Form

 

    • Accounting experience, including material movements, VAT and/or payroll accounting.
    • Knowledge of and experience with reporting according to IFRS and Local GAAP.
    • Experience in complex, international environment.
    • People management experience.
    • Experience with SAP and MS Office.
    • SOX experience is preferred.
    • English Language is essential, additional language such as French, Italian, Spanish or German also beneficial
    • Bachelor or Master degree in accounting or Finance or similar discipline (Equivalent work experience will be considered)
