Your mission:

 

The Service & Training Engineer supports customers, service partners, distributors and internal teams by providing technical advice, coordinating service and maintenance tasks, and addressing technical queries, to ensure professional service delivery and a high level of customer satisfaction.

 

In addition, the role involves delivering and continuously developing internal and external product training courses, as well as creating and maintaining up-to-date training content to support the RS Academy.

 

This combination of technical service expertise and training activities ensures that practical know-how is effectively imparted and continuously developed.

 

What you will do:

 

  • Providing support to customers, system integrators, distributors and service partners on technical issues, and coordinating service, maintenance and repair tasks to ensure professional service delivery and sustainable problem-solving.
  • Documenting and tracking customer enquiries, service cases and technical issues to support transparent handling and the identification of sustainable solutions.
  • Drawing up service and maintenance quotations, including scheduling and coordination with customers, service partners and service providers, to deliver services in a cost-effective and customer-focused manner.
  • Conducting internal and external product training for customers, service partners, distributors and    in-house staff through structured preparation, delivery and follow-up, to impart technical knowledge effectively and strengthen application skills.
  • Assisting with the development, updating and maintenance of high-quality training materials, manuals and digital learning content (e.g. via LMS platforms such as Litmos). Ensuring the consistency, scalability and availability of training resources.

 

Specific local responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the proper operation and operational readiness of the demo stations and training infrastructure at the Epson Experience Center (EEC) in Neuss. Close coordination with the local service and support team to integrate training and support activities.

 

What you will bring:

 

Education and Qualification Requirements

  • A completed state-recognised technician qualification in automation technology, mechatronics or electrical engineering, specialising in automation technology, or another comparable qualification.
  • Additional qualifications in the field of training or education are preferred (e.g., trainer certification, coaching certification, or a comparable qualification).

Professional Experience

  • Professional experience in a similar role
  • Experience in customer service, maintenance or a technical helpline
  • Experience in planning, conducting, and developing technical training programs for various target groups (e.g., customers, service partners, internal employees).

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • A good technical understanding of mechanics, electronics and software
  • Programming skills (PLCs, robots and other relevant programming languages)
  • Experience in systematic error analysis and problem-solving for complex technical systems.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and, ideally, experience with MS Dynamics Flied Service, learning management systems (e.g., Litmos) and digital training formats.
  • Ability to prepare training materials in a structured, pedagogically sound, and standardized manner

Language Requirements

  • Excellent written and spoken German and English, including the ability to convey technical content clearly and comprehensibly in both languages.
  • Knowledge of an additional foreign language is a plus.
