Your mission:

To lead and deliver operational HR across designated business areas, ensuring managers and employees receive expert guidance and consistent support across all HR activities.

To identify and drive opportunities that enhance team performance and align with business objectives and the wider European people strategy, while acting as the local lead for the implementation of European HR initiatives and projects.

 

What You Will Do:

 

  • Understand and actively contribute to the European people strategy and plans, interpreting and adopting these to consider local requirements and provide input into the development of future plans and initiatives.
  • Create and manage the local people agenda and annual plan, aligning with functional strategy and demonstrating continuous development and improvement.
  • Ensure end-to-end HR support for the employee lifecycle is provided for employees and managers by the local operational team, working with HR Business Partner (HRBP) team and HR subject matter experts to support and advise on more complex/strategic issues.
  • Manage required HR administration using established policies, procedures, and communications to ensure accurate and timely maintenance for all HR systems.
  • Manage the local HR cost budget, ensuring all finance and planning processes are implemented and budget accuracy is maintained.
  • Advise and coach managers to ensure best practice, compliance with local legislation and the application and interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Proactively manage more complex employee relations cases, absence, and welfare issues. 
  • Oversee the local recruitment and selection activities, working with HR team and the central talent acquisition team to ensure an efficient and effective recruitment process.
  • Be the local subject matter expert on HR practices and legislation and provide input and support for the delivery of central projects.
  • Manage delivery of organisational changes, liaising with HRBP’s as required, providing local knowledge, and planning to ensure efficient consultation, communication, and implementation.
  • Oversee the efficient processing of cyclical activities including performance management, salary review, variable pay programmes, and budget planning cycles, coordinating local activity as required and ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Collaborate with the HRBP and talent team to identify and prioritise local training or development needs and support in delivering solutions.
  • Communicate regularly with local managers and executive leaders and other designated contacts within Epson.
  • Ensure necessary reporting is carried out according to requirements of HR Leadership team, senior local managers, and SEC.
  • Develop and own the relationships with relevant third party support services, employment lawyer or benefits provider.
  • Lead in all required activities for employee representative and other regulatory bodies.
  • Manage the team towards meeting annual objectives, holding team members to a high standard of performance identifying and developing talent
  • Act as a role model and ensure a culture of diversity and inclusion in the function

 

What You Will Bring:

 

  • Extensive generalist HR experience in a commercial HR Department, with proficiency in local employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experienced operating in a matrix organisation, with exposure in other European countries, is highly beneficial.
  • Experience managing a generalist operational HR team.
  • Strong process, project and change management experience with proven ability to implement change initiatives successfully.
  • Experience of improving processes and driving value add HR service delivery
  • Ability to build rapport and trusting relationships and offer proactive solutions
  • Proven ability in influencing at a senior level with a commercial mindset to understand the client's needs and what is important to them.
  • Collaborative working style, pragmatic and positive in approach.
  • Proficient in all MS applications (particularly Excel) and HR technology/systems
  • Excellent planning and organising approach, with the ability to balance conflicting deadlines and priorities.
  • Flexible, tolerant and resilient with a positive attitude to change.
  • Attention to detail and passion for high quality and accuracy
  • Good level of English and relevant local language skills (verbal and written).

 

Specific local knowledge, skills and expertise:

  • Proven experience working with a Works Council, with evidence of creating and maintaining a trusted and collaborative relationship
