Your mission:

 

This is a unique opportunity and the first of it’s kind for Epson Europe.

 

We are looking for someone to lead the establishment and operation of our brand new European Business Services (EBS) operation in Riga, Latvia.

 

As the European Business Services Director you will be accountable for risk management, governance, and control, ensuring the Centre operates securely, compliantly, and efficiently within a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment. This role is pivotal in maturing the EBS and developing it into a centre of excellence that delivers consistent, high-quality services to a portfolio of European countries.

 

Salary: 88,000-110,000 (EUR) + Bonus

What you will do:

 

Establishment, Compliance & Governance:

  • Establish and operate EBS Riga in full compliance with Latvian and EU regulations (e.g. GDPR, financial controls) and strategic direction set.
  • Foster strong risk awareness, internal controls, and compliance culture across EBS operations.
  • Implement governance frameworks ensuring robust oversight and adaptability to meet country specific legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee risk management, audit readiness, and compliance alignment with central and local controls.
  • Build strong relationships with Latvian authorities, regulators, and vendors.

 

Strategy, Roadmap & Centre Development:

  • Develop and execute a roadmap for efficient multi-country service from a central hub.
  • Drive continuous improvement and transformation to enhance EBS maturity and efficiency.
  • Lead change management and communications to embed accountability and service excellence.
  • Drive Corporate Social Responsibility and Ecological vision in support of Epson strategy and principles.

 

Collaboration & Operational Leadership:

  • Partner with functional and EBS leaders to ensure seamless regional service delivery.
  • Leverage technology, automation, and innovation to strengthen control and responsiveness.

 

Team Leadership & People Management:

  • Lead and develop a multi-discipline team in Riga through direct and indirect reporting relationships, promoting inclusive, high-performance culture.
  • Role model and ensure a culture of diversity and inclusion in the country.

Financial & Performance Management

  • Manage budget and SGA targets; report accurately to key stakeholders.
  • Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs), control metrics, and KPIs with focus on risk and control over SLA metrics.

 

What we ask for:Bottom of Form

 

  • Ideally educated to Bachelor’s degree level in in Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, or related field; MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred (Equivalent work experience will be considered also)
  • Extensive experience of senior leadership within Shared Service Centres or Global Business Services operating across Europe, with a strong focus on risk, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-discipline teams with strong cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Experience managing enabling/support functions such as Service Delivery and Continuous Improvement.
  • Strong risk management, internal controls, compliance, and governance expertise in complex, multi-jurisdictional environments.
  • Familiarity with service management frameworks (ITIL), Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies integrated with risk and compliance disciplines.
  • Fluency in English at native or near-native level is essential.
  • Fluency in Latvian is mandatory to effectively engage with local third parties, institutions, and regulatory bodies.
