GL Accountant (Arabic speaker)

Your mission:

The GL Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely completion of monthly accounting and compliance reporting for Saudi Arabia and designated countries within the Saudi region. The role also includes oversight of VAT / WHT and CIT accounting for Saudi Arabia. Additionally, the Accountant supports general ledger functions and contributes to the month-end closing process and group reporting.

 

What you will do:

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly accounting, compliance reporting, and statutory filings, in line with J-SOX requirements.
  • Prepare financial data, investigate variances, and prepare Country-level financial statements, including corporate income tax returns.
  • Manage payroll accounting, employee expense claims, and liaise with HR to ensure accurate accruals.
  • Support the development and enforcement of local accounting policies, compliance checks, and proper documentation for transfer pricing and HQ/Intercompany agreements.
  • Oversee VAT and WHT compliance, including filing of returns, reconciliations, foreign refund claims, and interaction with tax authorities across the Saudi region.
  • Provide functional support for direct and indirect tax matters and assist in audit preparation.
  • Support month-end closing activities, including preparation of P&L and balance sheet notes, prepayment and VAT account reconciliation, Intercompany Transactions, group reporting and finance-related purchase order processing.
  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate policies.

 

What we ask for:

  • Bachelor/Master’s in Accounting or Finance, preferably CPA/ACCA
  • Solid Accounting Experience with demonstrated experience working as a GL Accountant in a complex, multi company and international environment covering the Saudi Region
  • Consolidation experience / Management Accounting in Saudi region
  • Experience in Excel and SAP
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing reports, including analysis of financial figures and explanatory notes
  • Knowledge of and experience with reporting according to IFRS
  • Sound knowledge of both direct and indirect tax and Transfer Pricing
  • Experience in managing / liaising with external accountants and auditors
  • SOX experience is preferred
  • Fluent in Arabic and English
