Are you an expert in point of sale systems (PoS)?
Here at Epson we have just created a new position for a Technical Specialist to join our team.
The Technical Specialist role provides both internal and external support for technical requirements related to our PoS products.
The Technical Specialist supports Sales with technical expertise during the project phase as well as with subsequent customer inquiries (pre- and post-sales).
The role also supports our specialised reseller network and system integrators with technical inquiries and works proactively with local and central Business System teams.
Additionally, the role delivers technical expertise and develops solutions for integrating our PoS products into new and existing applications.
What you will do:
- Cross-business unit support for Epson sales teams
- Technical support for tenders
- Deliver technical training to channel partners regarding Epson technology
- Develop solution approaches for integration and technical challenges
- Direct collaboration with strategic customers in the PoS environment
- Lead technical discussions with customers and associated external and internal partners
- Coordinate technical topics within Epson Germany and the Business Unit
- Train partner sales teams and key accounts on technical aspects of PoS products (remote and on-site)
- Own technical escalations and develop customer-focused solutions
- Prepare and technically implement trade shows and events in close coordination with Sales and Business Management
- Support and attend trade shows and events for market observation and network expansion
- Evaluate and compare competitor products, including their integration
- Build knowledge of other product areas (e.g. ColorWorks label printers) for backup purposes
- Further develop expertise in controlling PoS printers (JavaPOS, OPOS, drivers, ESC/POS; learning ePOS control)
- End-to-end responsibility for Epson fiscal products in Germany
What we ask for:
- Professional experience in the PoS environment as a Technical Specialist (e.g. programmer, technical support, pre-sales in hardware/software)
- Strong technical expertise in PoS printing and its applications in various POS systems
- Expertise in operating systems (Linux & Windows)
- Experience in technical support, pre-sales, or customer-facing service roles
- Confident presence with customers in retail and hospitality sectors, as well as partners and suppliers
- Proactive and results-oriented approach
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience presenting complex products and solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proactive approach to learning new knowledge and technical solutions
- Ability to work independently while closely coordinating with the team
- Good IT skills (Microsoft 365 Suite)
