Your mission:

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our Amsterdam team for a period of 8 months (maternity cover) from mid August.

 

You will join our European controlling department and work closely with key stakeholders from our Supply Chain operations. You will be responsible for producing accurate monthly reports and financial analysis on the overall performance of the function. You will prepare the business plan/forecasts and ensure the correct booking of logistics costs.

 

What you will do:

SG&A/Incidentals Controlling:

  • Ongoing monitoring of the SGA and Incidental costs related to logistics. Ensure clear and accurate analysis is made on the actual spend compared to Business Plan / Forecast. Provide support and advice to Finance Operations in operational tasks:
    • Check cost status, ensure correct booking (business / accounting) and anticipate month end review for any accruals and provisions
    • Perform weekly GR / IR review of the Purchase Order status and the appropriate handling of these to capture all the costs in the relevant month (books)
    • Monitor the logistics costs incurred by each separate 3PL and perform the relevant quality checks of those costs
    • Ensure accurate and relevant cost allocation for each Logistics entity to the business unit as a part of the official P&L reporting

 

Reporting/Analysis:

  • Month end budget/forecast versus actual reporting & analysis for the SGA part of the EMEAR, regional and EEB P&L:
    • Prepare monthly reports with comments and explanation by territory / region, business unit and at EEB and EMEAR level for the Head of Supply Chain, VP’s and EEB Management
    • Present on monthly basis the Logistics operation from a financial and operations point of view to EEB management through an official presentation
    • Prepare ad hoc reports as and when requested for BU/Region/Function owners with financial information and analysis over areas they are responsible for

 

Business Plan and Forecast:

  • Prepare of the budget and forecasts and support the Supply Chain Department by providing information for action. Ensure FC / BP group requirements are met following the right validation and appropriate review of the costs for all  European regions:
    • Prepare budgets and quarterly forecasts in cooperation with Supply Chain management by collecting budget input, challenge and validate data and input correct budget data with a justification for changes

 

Compliance

  • Ensure financial recordings for all logistics costs across Europe are accurate and according to IFRS / EFAS standards
  • Review and update Supply Chain accounting policies and procedures to be in line with European accounting and other relevant policies
  • Support European Audit & J-Sox department on audits and review of Supply Chain processes to ensure compliance with J-Sox and company policies

 

What we ask for:

  • Relevant experience in a similar controlling position
  • Proven analytical skills, preferably in an international environment
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel (managing large data sets)
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with ERP system (SAP FICO, MM, SD is beneficial)
  • Ability to set and meet strict deadlines
  • Service orientated with customer focus, stress resistant, innovative and able to resolve issues / problems in an efficient and logical manner
  • Fluent in English, verbally and in writing
