Epson is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Data Platform Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure data services, SQL/SQL Server operations, DevOps practices, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric. You will play a key role in designing, analysing, and visualizing data solutions, ensuring reliable data pipelines, and delivering insights that support business decisions.

Epson operates on a hybrid model of working from home and from our office spaces.

What you will do:

• Data Analysis & Reporting

• • Extract, transform, and analyse structured and unstructured data using SQL and Azure data services.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights.
  • Leverage Microsoft Fabric for advanced data integration and analytics.

• Database & SQL Server Operations
• Manage, optimize, and monitor SQL Server operations for performance, security, and reliability.
• Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for business use cases.
• Data Engineering & DevOps Collaboration
• Work with DevOps teams to integrate analytics pipelines into CI/CD workflows.
• Automate data processes using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or similar services.
• Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance policies.
• Cloud & Azure Integration
• Utilize Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Synapse Analytics, and Azure DevOps for scalable data solutions.
• Support migration and modernization of on-prem data solutions to Azure cloud.
• Stakeholder Collaboration
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into data models, reports, and insights.
• Present findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to technical and non-technical audiences.

What we ask for:

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, BI Developer, or Data Engineer in IT services.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL & SQL Server operations.
• Proficiency in Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake, Azure SQL, Azure SQL MI).
• Experience with Power BI development (DAX, Power Query, Data Modelling).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric for end-to-end analytics.
• Strong understanding of data ware housing, performance tuning and partitioning strategies.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, version control (Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and data storytelling skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft certifications in Azure Data Engineer, Power BI, or Fabric.
• Experience with ADF pipelines and data automation.
• Exposure to integration with Azure services.
