Your mission:

The Corporate Sustainability Specialist – Circular Economy & Waste Management acts as the strategic advisor for Epson’s circular economy initiatives across Europe. You will ensure rigorous compliance with European waste, packaging, and end-of-life legislation and other product related environmental laws.

You will serve as a key advisor to Seiko Epson Corporation headquarters in Japan and a cross-functional partner to Epson Europe’s Product Management, Operations, and Marketing teams. By integrating expert guidance on circular economy and waste management, you will support the delivery of products and services that minimize environmental footprint and maximize resource efficiency throughout the European market.

 

What you will do:

Track European regulatory requirements and prepare for implementation and market access

  • Track regulatory developments relating to circular economy including waste management, packaging, refurbishment, right to repair, product end of life policies.
  • Tracking covers a full range of activities including monitoring, reporting, assessing, lobbying and planning for implementation, with the aim of being the Epson Europe recognized expert on this topic.
  • Advise HQ in Japan as well as Epson Europe Product Management, Product Operations and European Marketing Department on implementation of new legislative requirements.
  • Prepare various qualitative and quantitative reports to meet internal and external reporting obligations.
  • Represents Epson in industry associations and policy makers
  • Represent Epson to government authorities, in industry association on circular economy matters.
  • Marketing and sales support.
  • Support Product Management and Sales to understand compliance with circular economy requirements.
  • Answer internal/external customer enquiries on WEEE, packaging, reuse, recycling, repair, refurbishment, and other end-of-life matters related to Epson’s products and services.
  • Prepare dossier and apply for various eco labels and/or marketing related certifications.
  • Provide inputs for marketing materials on WEEE, packaging, reuse, recycling, repair, refurbishment, and other end-of-life matters related to Epson’s products and services.
  • Contribute to raising awareness on sustainability internally and externally.
  • Project management
  • In partnership with internal and external stakeholders, develop and implement projects to reduce waste from Epson’s products and services.

 

What we ask for:

  • Significant experience within electronic goods industry preferably related to circular economy; alternatively, a good understanding of legislative frameworks and their practical application within a corporate environment is highly valued.
  • Good understanding of EU regulatory processes. Experience with Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), Battery Regulation, WEEE Directive and/or EU Deforestation Regulation is beneficial.
  • Solid computer literacy to enable reporting on various matters.
  • Proven communication skills and ability to work crossfunctionally with diverse and international internal stakeholders, supported by cultural awareness.
  • Experience in communicating and negotiating with government officials and industry associations is beneficial.
  • Proactive and highly organized personality, demonstrating critical thinking and a strong commitment to teamwork.
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal.
  • Project management skills are preferable.
