Your mission:
This is a 6-month FTC; self-employed consultants need not apply.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Branch/GL Accountant to join our finance team. You will be responsible for timely and accurate monthly branch accounting and compliance reporting across assigned countries. This role requires SAP (or similar ERP) experience, strong Excel skills and confidence in analysing large data sets.
This role sits within a small branch accounting team within Finance Operations department offering three days working from home and two days working from our Amsterdam office.
What you will do:
- Review and analyse data submissions by local Branch Accountants (local Office Administrators or external Accountants) and make monthly enquiries / analysis regarding the noted variations in reported figures
- Prepare the branch statutory and financial statements, including accurate and timely filing of Branch corporate income tax.
- Process and reconcile payroll accounting entries
- Liaise with Human Resources (HR) for proper payroll accrual and other HR accounting entries
- Prepare analysis of the branches’ financial figures, including accruals and other accounting entries
- Review and process employee expense claims in accordance with local legal requirements and Epson travel policies and procedures
- Reconcile Corporate Credit Card statements with submitted expense claims and resolve anomalies
- Communicate on specific accounting issues with the local Branch Accountants, External Tax consultants and external Auditors.
Participate in preparing and maintaining the following activities for the branches:
- Policies and procedures
- Compliance checks with the accounting policies of HQ
- Compliance with corporate reporting chart of accounts
- Mapping table to report from SAP to local company accounts
- Proper Transfer Pricing documentation and HQ/Branch agreements
- Participate in projects relating to EEB branches and consolidation accounting
- Suggest continuing improvements to processes and reports and secure J-SOX and Branch / HQ compliancy
- Direct / Indirect tax Helpdesk functional support team member.
What we ask for:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting
- Solid accounting experience, preferably in an international environment
- Consolidation experience / Branch Management Accounting in Europe
- Knowledge of and experience with reporting according to IFRS and other GAAP
- Demonstrated experience in preparing reports, including analysis of financial figures and explanatory notes
- Sound knowledge of both direct and indirect tax and Transfer Pricing
- Solid experience with SAP or other ERP systems
- Strong excel skills
- Experience in managing / liaising with external accountants and auditors
- Fluent in English, verbally and in writing. Knowledge of other relevant languages is an advantage.
